An Invitation to Remain as You Are, in the Midst of Everything
Your experience consists of perceptions of the world, sensations of the body, thoughts and images of the mind, and the fact of being aware or awareness.
First of all, be aware of your perceptions: sights, sounds, tastes, textures and smells – the five sense faculties through which the world appears. Look around the room without focussing on anything in particular. Now close your eyes and be aware of the ruddy brown image on the back of your eyelids.
Be aware of any sounds, near or far, loud or faint. Let them come and go without resistance.
Notice any taste in your mouth, any texture on your skin, any scent in the air.
Just a disinterested noticing of the entire content of your experience – not grasping, not resisting, simply allowing it all to be as it is.
