There Is Only the One Reality
How the Assumption of Separation Gives Way to the Unity of Being
The recognition that underlying all things is a single, infinite, indivisible whole is the great understanding at the heart of every spiritual and religious tradition. This essay explores how that recognition has been expressed in both East and West, why the world can never reveal itself through the lens of perception alone, and what it means to live from the paradigm of unity.
The understanding of unity is the great recognition on which all the religious and spiritual traditions are founded, expressed in numerous different ways. It was expressed as much in the West as in the East, although it was suppressed more effectively in the West – which is why so many of us went East, at least intellectually if not physically, to find it.
